Our rule is simple: the person borrowing an item is responsible for it until the lender confirms it is back. Lenders are never on the hook for a borrower's use.
12-hour grace period, then the lender's daily rate (max 1.5× the rental daily rate) per late day, capped at the item's replacement value. After 10 days late the item is treated as lost.
The lender reports condition with photos at return. Repair cost (dry-clean, tailor) is charged for minor damage; replacement value for irreparable damage or loss. You get an itemized notice and 48 hours to dispute before charges are final. Normal wear — light creasing, a scent that cleaning removes — is never charged.
Lenders clean between rentals and may add a cleaning fee (max $60). Borrowers should not wash or dry-clean unless the lender asks.
